Megan O’Neil

Megan O’Neil is a Research Associate on staff at the National Center for Campus Public Safety. Prior to joining the National Center, Megan worked in law enforcement for nearly eight years. She was most recently a Detective with the University of Vermont Police Services and a part-time Investigator for the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. She was formerly a Deputy Sheriff in Davis County, Utah before moving to Vermont. Megan’s responsibilities at the National Center include collecting, compiling and making available evidence-based practices as well as relevant, existing templates, toolkits, guidebooks, protocols, and other related materials. She works with subject matter experts and researchers to identify and gather information on critical issues to inform the field, and develop and enhance systems for data collection, analysis, assessment, coordination, and dissemination through multiple models, to a national audience of stakeholders.

When she’s not working, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and dog outdoors, participating in activities such as hiking, rock climbing and kayaking. She also enjoys reading and baking at home.
