Travel Abroad Safety London Focus Groups

Date: April 07, 2014
Location: Pepperdine University's London Campus

As part of Margolis Healy's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Evidence Based Campus Crime Prevention grant (2010-DB-BX-K044) extension to review best and promising practices in travel abroad safety programs, we are pleased to announce the first of two focus group series to discuss assessment and programming models for study abroad safety and security.

Our International Focus Groups will be held on:

Monday, April 7, 2014
graciously hosted at
Pepperdine University's London Campus

We are specifically seeking students, campus public safety officials, student affairs professionals, education abroad industry leaders, and institutional leaders who are based overseas to participate in these groups. Each group in London will last two hours and groups will be separated by participant role/demographic. In addition, we will provide a stipend of $50 USD to each participant.

This research study is the first of its kind taken by BJA to focus on the safety and security provided by study abroad programs. The findings from these focus groups will be used to inform the development of pertinent materials and information that can be disseminated via websites, and hand-held and mobile application platforms.

We invite you to take our very brief survey to pre-register for our focus group in London.

Please forward this to stakeholders you know who may want to take part in this effort. We are partnering with other professional organizations to recruit participants for this research project and apologize in advance if you receive more than one invitation for these focus groups.

Of course, feel free to contact us with any questions.
