Director Mike Webster to Speak at Maryland Chiefs of Police & Sheriff’s Association Training

Date: September 15, 2015
Location:

Director for Regulatory Compliance Mike Webster will present a 90-minute workshop on September 15, 2015 to the Maryland Chiefs of Police and Sheriff's Association joint training conference. The presentation, Working with Colleges and Universities — The Clery Act & Title IX, will provide an overview of two recently expanded federal laws that fundamentally shape how colleges and universities manage campus safety, especially gender violence and sexual assault. These companion laws impact law enforcement agencies both on and off campus in several important ways. The presentation is important to any agency that has a college or university in its jurisdiction, places officers on a task force that serves an institution of higher education, or is an agency that is located on a campus. The presentation is expected to take approximately 60 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer panel where Mike will be joined by Chief Jeff Spaulding of the Westminster Police Department.
