Managing Partners Steven Healy and Dr. Margolis spoke to an audience of campus police and security personnel, student life professionals and other interested campus or community personnel at the Virginia Campus Safety Forum: Addressing Sexual Assault on Campus on March 21, 2012.  Mr. Healy’s session “What Story is Told by the Numbers?  Clery and IBR reporting statistics and Expected Legislative Changes to the Clery Act in 2012” and Dr. Margolis’s session “The Interconnected Nature of Gender and Sexual Violence Crimes: How to Build A Sexual Assault Case” are shown below:

Dr. Margolis Recently Presented at URMIA Western Regional Conference

Dr. Margolis recently presented at the URMIA Western Regional Conference on March 19, 2012 in Boise, ID.  Dr. Margolis, Leta Finch (Aon Risk Solutions) and Nakeschi Watkins (Yeshiva University) co-presented an Educational Session titled, “Threats from Student Special Events: Awareness, Prevention, and Response”.

Special event management has become an essential function on today’s campus as the failure of an event can significantly alter a school’s reputation and impact the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, and guests. Recent high-profile incidents have included murders and alcohol-fueled disruptions.

Margolis Healy has identified specific, essential factors and tools to assist in mitigating risks of campus special event planning. Dr. Margolis will present unique insights from Margolis Healy’s research into two decades of special event tragedies, combined with the firm’s experience supporting institutions throughout the planning and post-event process.

Dr. Gary Margolis and Steven J. Healy will be presenting at the upcoming Virginia Campus Safety Forum: Addressing Sexual Assault on Campus being held in Hampton, Virginia, March 19-21, 2012. The Forum is an opportunity for leading experts to review the latest data, reporting, policies, and challenges involved in the field of campus sexual assault.

Dr. Margolis will give a presentation on The Interconnected Nature of Gender and Sexual Violence Crimes: How to Build A Sexual Assault Case.  Mr. Healy will present What Story is Told by the Numbers? Clery and IBR reporting statistics and Expected Legislative Changes to the Clery Act in 2012.
